Sing a Song
Ring in the New Year by Dr. Jean
(Tune: "We Wish You a Merry Christmas")
Let’s all do a little ringing, (Shake hands as if ringing bells.)
Let’s all do a little ringing,
Let’s all do a little ringing,
It’s a Happy New Year!
Let’s all do a little clapping… (Clap hands.)
Let’s all do a little dancing… (Dance around.)
Let’s all do a little smiling… (Smile.)
When is your birthday?
When is your birthday?
When is your birthday?
Stand up and cheer.
(Say months of the year.) January, February, March, etc.
Let’s all be a little kinder… (Pat friends on the back.)
For a Happy New Year!

Learn New Year's Resolutions with Elmo!
Try This!
Have your child write their own New Year’s Resolutions. Record them to listen to at the end of the year. Start a tradition of celebrating New Year’s at noon so that your children can join in on the fun of counting down! Have a ball drop (use a piñata or make your own ball by wrapping a beach ball in foil) and “toast” with sparkling apple cider! Make a list with your child of all their favorite memories of last year. Have them draw some of the memories to share with friends and family.
